Sapin production covers single and double jacket hoses, plain and twill polyester H.T. jackets, with natural and/or synthetic rubber linings, oil and ozone resistant, with additional outer coatings of nytrilic, polyurethanic and polichlorovinylresins, rubber covered hoses with anti-abrasion profile, offering a complete range of fire hoses and industrial pipes, particularly when there is a need for light hoses which roll flat and take up little space (compressed air, irrigation, snow cannons, fuel drinking water delivery). All this hoses can be supplied with B.S., Storz, Afnor and any other international couplings. Service test pressure up to 5 MPa (50 bar). Burst pressure up to 10 MPa (100 bar). Since 2004, in accordance with the European Directive 89/106/CEE, Sapin has more than 180 Hydrant systems with lay flat hose certified EN 671/2 and more than 80 fire hose reels certified EN 671/1, that can satisfy every needs. Sapin produce and commercialize also a big range of fire fighting equipment like nozzle, cabinets, hose reels, hydrant, couplings and adapters.

History

Sapin - Società Applicazioni Industriali - Srl was founded in 1972. The Chevallard family has devoted to this company many decades of experience in the field of textile application: at the beginning of the century pioneering the spinning of silk for industrial use (Filature de Schappe S.A.) and during the 50's as textile industrialists in the field of spinning and weaving of the first synthetic fibers. The development of advanced technologies in the areas of rubbers and technopolymers together to a concrete managerial experience have enabled Sapin to establish itself in the market and to become in a very short time the largest Italian manufacturer of fire hoses and one of the leading producer in Europe. In 1988 the manufacturing plant was relocated in a new industrial park of 4.000 sqm in the Greater Milan area, enabling a better integration of the technological processes and a larger production capacity. Sapin is now able to control by means of its own quality system the entire production process, from an accurate choice of raw material suppliers to the final tests following the main standards executed in its own equipped laboratories.
